Covered Dish Lunch For Rescue Squad The Polk County Rescue Squad will have a covered dish lunch Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Rescue Squad building All squad members and their families are invited and to bring a covered dish. Basketball Results District 1-/3 Girls Cherokee 61, Stecoah 38 District 1-A Boys Cherokee 79, Highlands 55 Tonight A Country Western and Folk Concert will be presented at Isothermal Community College tonight at 8 o’clock in the library auditorium. Bruce Byers is producing the show that will feature the Broad River Boys, Harris Station. Joe Ryan, Bill Byers, Alesia Gibson and Donna Matheny Alesia, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Gibson of Columbus, will sing a variety of music including "Wayfaring Stranger”, "Willing" and Desperado." There is no addmission charge. Tryon Little Theater Does It Again! Last night's audience enjoyed the touch of Spring at the opening performance of F. Hugh Herbert's “The Moon Is Blue". From the opening scene on the Empire State tower, through the bachelor's apartment the cast gave warm, inspired and delightful feeling to the characters. Once again, though, we should give a standing ovation to the set, lighting, music, costume, make-up and other crews. It seems the TLT’s back stage workers surpass the previous plays It's wonderful when a lovely woman agrees willingly to pad herself, age herself and do a bit comic turn Marianne Brown was the epitome of a fanatical Irish mother. Tryon School Board Meets Monday The Tryon School Board will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Superintendent's Office at Tryon High School. Landscape Landscape classes at the Agriculture Extension Office Conference Room in Columbus are Tuesday, March 3rd at 7:30 p.m. P. C. Boosters Meet Monday The Polk Central Boosters Club will meet Monday at 7 p.m at the school. 4-H Talent Open Audition If you want to participate in the 4-H Talent competion, there will be an open audition Monday, March 2nd at 5:30 p.m. in the 4-H Center in Columbus. Some schools don’t participate in the program, so if you attend one of these or go to school out of the county, attend the open audition Monday at the 4-H Center
